Updates to the site are needed because the house now has a deck on the upper level so there is more shade on the back lower deck and it is also a spectacular location to star watch from. Everything was great. Kitchen was well laid-out and fully equipped to easily make your own dinner along with a gas barbeque outside the living room. The upper level also has a game/lounge area off of the main bedroom(king bed) and a very modern bath with a walk-in shower. In the back yard there is a two person swing as well as a hammock under the cotton-wood trees. I did move one of the Adirondack chairs so I could sit close to the Jemez Creek but I left the other two chairs next to the fire pit and had it fired up both of our evenings there. If you want those things related to civilization the large screen tv and internet access will make being surrounded by nature less scary. Thanks for letting us do a late check-out so we could sleep in a little later on Sunday morning. I had a great time relaxing with coffee next the Jemez and it being only an hour from Albuquerque is a huge incentive to book again.

The site needs to be updated about all the new stuff that is happening with this home. It now has an upper deck off the game/lounge area near the master bed room. The deck gives more wanted afternoon shade on the lower deck and in the the evening the upper deck is a great star gazing location. Some of the trees near the wonderful fire pit have been removed so you can see and hear the Jemez better. I love the two person swing chair as well as the hammock both of which are shaded under the cottonwoods. I did relocate one of the fire pit's Adirondack chair so that it was right next to the Jemez where I could relax with my book next to all the babbling and burbling. The kitchen is well laid out and has everything you need to prep and cook your meal ingredients with ease. The barbeque on the lower deck was great. If being surrounded by nature is not quite your thing then the internet access and big tv will probably work for you. The master bedroom bath area has a walk-in shower so nice plus there. I love that the low storage room behind the master bed is designated "the Bear Cave" for any adventurous kids(or adults). I spent both nights with the fire pit operating. It would be a great place to tell ghost stories while eating smores and looking into the dark woods on the other side of the Jemez. I wish to thank the host personally for letting us stay latter on Sunday because there were no Sunday afternoon guests. Getting to sleep in and enjoy the yard a little bit more was an incredible gift.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was serene, right along the river, in a quiet neighborhood.

The house held untold surprises. There were books, the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in an airbnb, coffee, tea, toiletries, a LIVE ORCHID! It's so clear that this house was impeccably designed, and is perfect for a weekend getaway. The host was responsive. There was even a local wine for our group to enjoy. I cannot recommend this place enough and I can't wait to come back.

This is the nicest air bnb I’ve ever stayed in! We split the cost among several people and it was very affordable, especially for the amenities provided. The furniture is incredibly comfortable and the kitchen was very well-equipped!

It’s the perfect place for a long weekend with friends, especially if you like to cook! And if you want a night off cooking, there’s a good pizza place in town. We felt so comfortable and luxurious in this house. Thanks for the great place!

I was concerned that the privacy would be less than it was, but I was wrong. The owner was there if you needed her, but very unobtrusive if you don't. From the first moment we drove through the gate at Casa del Rio we were in love with this place. Easy access to unload - backed the car up to within feet of the steps to the deck. I had to stop a few times to soak in the rushing water of the creek from the beautiful deck! Every amenity has graciously been thought of by the owner - gate clicker, flashlights, binoculars, trail maps and full info about each cool place to visit/hike/fish/swim, fire pit by the river, too many small details to recount them all here... And the kitchen - awesome kitchen, everything labeled, new, clean and ready to cook (if you so desire) - and we were greeted with such lovely treats from the owner, too!! We slept in the bed in the master upstairs and it was dreamy/comfy and made us ready for the next day's adventure. Wifi, water pressure, cell coverage, streaming tv - all the things you might be concerned about at a cottage in the mountains - worked great! Maybe too great ;) We spent most of our mornings sitting by the creek reading and enjoying the beauty, and our days hiking and exploring, then coming home to a warm shower and grilling on the excellent (and clean!) Weber grill. We did stop in Santa Fe at Market Street on our way and got kabobs and veggies to grill - so yummy. When it was time to pack up and leave it was so difficult to leave this slice of heaven in the Jemez Mountains - we will be back!! Thank you so much for everything!!

Our family of four absolutely loved this house during our 3 night stay in April 2022. The house itself is top notch, and thoughtfully stocked with what we needed to enjoy our stay, right down to towels for dipping our feet in the river. We loved reclining by the fireplace, making s'mores in the fire pit, relaxing to the sounds of the Jemez River(stream) in the hammock, and looking for trout in the river. The boys loved the foosball table too - nice touch. Adriana was a wonderful host, and made sure all was well during our stay, and answered any questions we had promptly. We were so happy we found this place, and would love to stay here again. Not close, but yet not far from lots of activities. Thumbs up on the nearby Hwy 4 Cafe as well.

Adriana is the best host! She made sure we were all set up and then some! The place was spotless and stocked with all kinds of goodies to make us feel welcomed and at home! The place itself is wonderful and was very very comfortable for our family of four (two teen boys) and two doggies. Everyone had a cozy spot to retreat to as well as plenty of great spots to hang out as a family (the porch, the fire pit, the living room, the loft...). The cabin was warm and delightful in all respects. This rental far exceeded our expectations and was even nicer than the photos. There were two extra portable folded mattresses so the kids had options for which room they preferred to sleep in (the room with the foosball table was the winner). Our host was very communicative and even left us a surprise welcome gift! The little creek behind the place was a delight. The cabin had everything you could need for a happy vacation. Lots of little details were covered like providing both wood for the fire pit and an indoor s'more maker in case it rained! The cabin isn't far from Albuquerque or Santa Fe. Our host texted me a variety of local attractions to enjoy but we were so comfortable we decided to stay in the cabin. This was the perfect place to enjoy family time together for the first time in two years, due to the pandemic. Check in and out was easy. I think this will become our favorite family gathering spot, though we will probably need to book early!

There was an unexpected welcoming bottle of local wine and probably the best cookie I’ve ever had in my life. The house was recently remodeled and there amazing crispy details throughout the house. Haven't ever taken a chance on a new listing like this before, and I'm so glad I did! Absolutely stunning little cabin right on the river with a breathtaking view of the mesa. We visited in the fall and the yellow leaves on the trees made everything feel so magical. The cabin is beautifully remodeled and our stay was incredibly relaxing. We were less than an hour away from so many amazing trails: during our visit we ventured out to see the Stable Mesa, Gilman Tunnels, and San Antonio Hot Springs. (Be prepared to drive on dirt roads!) Other sweet touches in the cabin included an assortment of games, a box to carry your s'mores fixings out to the fire pit, a variety of heaters to make your stay comfortable, and a few complimentary goodies! Like other reviewers have said, the water pressure is a bit low. But based on other places I've stayed out in the "middle of nowhere," that's pretty common, and nothing that can't be worked around. All in all we had a great time during our stay, and would definitely love to come back!

Overall the space was fantastic. A lot of thought went into the recent remodels. The cabin was extremely clean. The checkin was seamless. The outdoor space was fantastic with a river flowing right through the back yard. We spent time enjoying the fire pit and making s'mores. All of the essentials were taken care of by the host.

It is important to remember that it is a cabin in the woods so there are some insects and spiders in the house which is pretty unavoidable. The water pressure is also a little on the low side.

I would highly recommend this cabin. It has the perfect location if you are planning a lot of outdoor time. There are a ton of hikes/trails within close driving distance.
